Beachcomber Cruises is one of the major operators within the Marlborough Sound and offers a selection of boat trips through this beautiful area – including their world-famous Mail Run where for over 150 years the mail has been delivered by boat. This journey is the only officially licensed New Zealand Post Rural Delivery Service by water in the Queen Charlotte Sound / Tōtaranui making this a truly unique and interesting tour!

With eight vessels operating on the water there are a range of scenic cruises for you to enjoy. From a 2-hour jaunt, a half day relaxation or a full day immersion, there is plenty of opportunity to experience the breathtaking natural wonder of the Sounds & its wildlife inhabitants. Explore islands including those that are birdlife sanctuaries, hidden coves & historical locations such as Captain Cooks favourite anchorage point. The skippers of all the vessels, including the water taxis have a comprehensive knowledge of the Sounds which they enjoy sharing with their passengers. Beachcomber Cruises is family owned and operated by Tony & Margaret, who purchased the company in September 2006. With strong family values at their core they believe their customers are their shareholders & strive to make each one happy. They are focused on sustainability & enjoy strong ties within the local community and work closely with local organisations including Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust, Marlborough Youth Trust and Kaipupu Point Wildlife Sanctuary.
